Dell 1420N Linux at Last
I've been running linux on various cast off computers for a while now. The problem is that they've always had hardware that was important for real use that didn't work. Or they had other issues that made life difficult slow processors, puny hard drive.
Then Dell did a very very good thing, they released the Latitude 1420N which comes pre-loaded with Ubuntu 7.04. I snagged one immediately, I got a good deal on one with 2.2Ghz Core Duo, bright screen display, 160Gig 7200rpm drive, DVD RW drive, wireless-G. It is very very fast, all of the hardware works, sweet! I'll be moving to it as my primary machine...
