I finally figured out a good way to process night shots that have too little light, first I white balance them to get the most out of the light there is, and then do a selective gaussian blur with a big radius to smooth out all the graininess... nice effect... I especially like the fuzzy outline of the city, and the swoop of the cab going by the train....

By selective Gaussian blur - do you mean you select an area and then apply the blur?

Came out nice.

I like your other night shots too.
 
Nope that's the name of the filter, it works by blurring only areas of constant shade, so it tends to preserve edges and smooth solid areas...
